With its porosity, our Kawarakabe can moderate room humidity, while its clay-like appearance can be pleasing to the eye. Aggregates made from roof tiles can add unique expressions to the wall.
The walling materials we produce are eco and human-friendly. Kawarakabe can moderate humidity with its porosity, while creating a more comfortable room environment. In addition, we utilize recycled roof tiles, which can reduce CO2 emission even when used in newly-built or remodeled houses.
We highly recommend using Kawarakabe, which combines beautiful design, high functionality, and eco-friendliness.
Kawarakabe is a unique product recycled from roof tiles discarded when demolishing buildings or replacing roof tops. Clay roof tiles are fired in the range 1,100 to 1,300℃, hardened and porous ceramic. By utilizing these tiles as walling materials, we can produce products with a lot of advantages.
■Major Advantages■
1 Recycling can be encouraged, leading to reduced CO2 emission.
3 No releasing of formaldehyde.
Attractive plastering materials【Kawarakabe】with unique design and high functionality.
Aggregate (sand type) used in Kawarakabe is all made from discarded roof tiles collected when demolishing private houses, for instance. This aggregate is carefully manufactured in our factory (approved by ISO9000) under strict quality control.
Since Kawarakabe utilizes recycled roof tiles as aggregate, 1,000 kg of it can reduce 7.13kg of CO2 emission (approximately 37g / ㎡) in comparison with normal new plastering products. *5 kg of the aggregate is used in 1㎡ of our Kawarakabe. It is also easy to install because it can be directly applied to plaster board or wallpaper.
Kawarakabe has amazingly high functionality.
1、Data for Moisture Absorption and Desorption
This graph shows that Kawarakabe releases and absorbs as much or more moisture as diatomite, which proves its suitability as plastering material. When the humidity is RH100% (See bottom left of the graph), roof tiles absorb more moisture than other materials. As the humidity nears RH80% (Also see the center of the graph), they release a lot of moisture. This explains the roof tiles’ high functionality. *The original data has been collected in The Industrial Research Institute of Ishikawa and converted into tons per cubic meter (kg/m3).
2、Data for Thermal Conductivity
Thermal conductivity is approximately 70% lower than mortar, showing Kawarakabe is highly suitable for walling.
